Sheet Metal Processing Stamping Technology

Time:2026-04-24 Views:0

Sheet metal processing stamping technology is a common and important processing method in sheet metal manufacturing, which uses stamping dies to apply pressure to sheet metal materials through stamping equipment, making the materials produce plastic deformation or separation, so as to obtain sheet metal parts with a certain shape, size and performance. Stamping technology has the advantages of high production efficiency, high processing precision, good product consistency, low material waste and strong adaptability, and is widely used in automotive, aerospace, electronic, electrical, household appliances and other industries. According to the processing purpose and process characteristics, stamping technology can be divided into two categories: separation process and forming process.

The separation process, also known as blanking process, mainly includes punching, shearing, blanking and trimming, whose purpose is to separate the sheet metal material from the blank according to the required shape and size. For example, punching is to punch out the required holes on the sheet metal, shearing is to cut the sheet metal into a certain size and shape, and trimming is to trim the edge of the formed part to make it meet the design requirements. In the separation process, it is necessary to control the blanking force, blanking speed and the gap between the punch and die to ensure the quality of the section of the part and avoid burrs, cracks and other defects.

The forming process mainly includes bending, drawing, flanging, bulging and embossing, whose purpose is to make the sheet metal material produce plastic deformation under the action of pressure, so as to form the required three-dimensional shape. Bending is the most common forming process, which bends the sheet metal into a certain angle and shape according to the design requirements. Drawing is to make the flat sheet metal into a hollow part, such as the shell of a can and the cover of a household appliance. Flanging is to process the edge of the hole or the edge of the part into a flange, which can enhance the strength of the part and facilitate assembly. In the forming process, it is necessary to consider the ductility and springback of the material, and take corresponding measures to reduce springback, such as optimizing the mold structure, adjusting the stamping parameters and heat treatment of the material.

With the development of industrial technology, sheet metal processing stamping technology is constantly innovating. Precision stamping technology, progressive die stamping technology, multi-station stamping technology and other advanced technologies have been widely applied, which have improved the production efficiency and processing precision of stamping parts. At the same time, the application of new materials such as high-strength steel, aluminum alloy and composite materials has also promoted the development of stamping technology, requiring stamping equipment and dies to have higher performance to adapt to the processing of new materials. In addition, the integration of stamping technology with automatic control technology and intelligent manufacturing technology has realized the automatic and intelligent production of stamping parts, further promoting the development of the sheet metal processing industry.
