  Sheet metal bending is a plastic forming process that uses a press brake and dedicated bending tool to apply pressure to metal sheets, causing plastic deformation at specific angles and radii.

  Key Technical Points

  Spring-back Compensation

  Metal rebounds after bending; we use spring-back calculation & pre-compensation to ensure final angle accuracy.

  Minimum Inner Radius

  Depends on material thickness and hardness:

  Generally: R ≥ 0.5 × sheet thickness

  Soft materials: smaller radius

  Hard materials: larger radius to avoid cracking

  Bending Direction

  Bending along the transverse direction of the sheet rolling grain to prevent cracks.

  Hole-to-Bend Distance

  Too close will cause hole deformation.

  Standard safety distance:

  ≥ 2 × sheet thickness + bending radius
